In recent days, WhatsApp users have complained that there cannot transfer chat history from iOS to Android and/or vice-versa. Previously, changing operating systems resulted in losing the entire chat history but not anymore as WhatsApp has rolled out the possibility to transfer chat history from an iPhone to an Android device. However, all you need to know it make it happen is a USB-Type C to lighting cable. As of now, WhatsApp has rolled out this feature to Samsung phones running Android 10 or higher.
About the chat migration feature, WhatsApp said in a blog spot, “One of the most requested features we’ve had is to make it possible to transfer chat history from one operating system to another when switching phones. We’ve been hard at work with the operating system and device manufacturers to build it in a secure and reliable way. We’re excited to start rolling out the ability to move your WhatsApp history from iOS to Android. This happens without your messages being sent to WhatsApp in the process and includes voice messages, photos and videos.”
Steps to Migrate Chats from iPhone to Android Phone
Step 1: Turn on the Samsung phone and connect a cable to your iPhone when you are asked to.
Step 2: After this, go with the instructions provided by the Samsung Smart Switch app for transferring data.
