Quoting of Aadhaar card is mandatory for a host of services ranging from filing income tax, to linking with pan card. Aadhaar is also one of a very important proof of identification and in order to avail Aadhaar Online services, it is also important to have a registered Mobile Number linked to the 12-digt identification number. Here we are listing out eight essential services where you need to furnish Aadhaar card details.


NRI Aadhaar Card

NRIs who want to open their bank account in the country, must furnish Aadhaar proof for identification. UIDAI in August this year informed that now NRIs will not have to wait for 182 days to apply for Aadhaar card. They can do so upon arrival in India –all they need is a valid Indian passport.


Aadhaar Card for pension

To use the Pension Scheme and avail its benefits, you will need Aadhaar Card.


Aadhaar Card for PDS

To avail the full list of benefits under Public Distribution System (PDS), it is necessary to have an Aadhaar for proof along with the ration card.


Aadhaar Card for PAHAL scheme

LPG Subsidy. The Modi government’s PAHAL scheme that grants subsidy for LPG subscribers, is directly credited to the Aadhaar card which is linked to the LPG connection. Unless your Aadhaar is linked to your LPG connection, you will not be eligible to receive the LPG subsidy.


Aadhaar Card PAN Card linking mandatory

The government made it mandatory under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act for every person holding a PAN as on July 1, 2017 who is eligible to get an Aadhaar, must link his/her PAN with Aadhaar. The PAN-Aadhaar linking deadline has seen a lot of date changes, with the latest deadline being September 30, 2021.


Aadhaar Card for subsidy

As per the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Third Amendment Rules, 2019, if you wish to receive any benefit or subsidy under any scheme notified under section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), it is mandatory to submit Aadhaar number to the banking service provider. For other banking services, Aadhaar is a preferred KYC document. However, if you do not wish to submit Aadhaar, then you may use any other officially valid documents as prescribed by Reserve Bank of India.


Aadhaar Card for ITR filing

Section 139AA of the Income-tax Act, 1961 as introduced by the Finance Act, 2017 provides for mandatory quoting of Aadhaar /Enrolment ID of Aadhaar application form, for filing of return of income.


Aadhaar Card for mediclaim
